How it's done

Removable partial dentures are made by taking impressions of the upper and lower arches of teeth. They are fabricated in a lab to fit only your mouth. There is usually 1 or 2 appointments to adjust the partials once they have been delivered.

Dental bridges fill the gap between teeth caused by one or more missing teeth. A bridge will cosmetically improve a person's smile, stabilize the teeth in the mouth from shifting, and increase the chewing power a person has lost from missing teeth.

A bridge is made by crowning the teeth on either side of gap which act as anchors (abutments) for the bridge. These abutments are connected by a false tooth (pontic) between the abutment teeth. This one piece unit consisting of the abutment and pontics is fabricated by a lab and then cemented onto the abutment teeth.
